Optima Leaf-Cu is a liquid foliar fertiliser based on copper that has been 100% complexed with hepta gluconic acid (HGA). Copper strengthens cells and has a positive effect on sugar and starch production.

Optima Leaf Range

Optima Leaf-Cu is part of the Optima Leaf range, a line of foliar fertilisers that are efficiently absorbed by the crop.

Functions of copper

  • Essential in the seed and fruit formation stage.
  • Essential for chlorophyll formation and photosynthesis.
  • Important for strong, flexible plant cells.
  • Positive influence on the starch content, sugar content and flavour of fruit.

Possible causes of copper deficiency in plants

  • Low copper levels in the soil.
  • Soils with a high organic matter content fix copper which reduces its availability for the crops.
  • Too much phosphate and nitrogen in the soil prevent the copper uptake in the crop.
  • A high soil pH reduces the availability of copper.

  • Delivers copper in an organically complexed form.
  • Ensures efficient uptake and translocation of copper.
  • Product approved for organic agriculture and horticulture in compliance with regulations EC 834/2007 & 889/2008.

The maximum concentration for the products from the Optima Leaf range is 1 litre of product per 200 litres of spray liquid (e.g.: dissolve 1 litre Optima Leaf-Cu + 1 litre Optima Leaf-Trace in at least 400 litres of spray liquid).

Attn.: Do not exceed the total maximum dosage of 2 litres/hectare of Optima Leaf products.

Instructions for use
  • Shake or stir well before use.
  • Store frost free, indoors in a dark place. The product may crystallise at too cold temperatures (<7 °C).
  • For the best results, apply Optima Leaf- Cu in the early morning or late afternoon, to avoid strong sunlight. This minimises the risk of crop damage due to leaf burn. If the crop stays wet for longer, the nutrients uptake is improved.
  • Optima Leaf-Cu is generally compatible with other products. However, with a pH more acidic than 4, copper can react with phosphate fertilisers.
  • Never mix pure products together.
  • We recommend carrying out a trial application on a small area first, before
  • applying to the entire plot.
  • This product has a shelf life of 3 years from the moment of production.
  • The shelf life of the product is stated on the label. Opening the packaging in the meantime has no influence on this. As long as the guidelines for storage are followed the expiry date (BB) on the label is leading.
